Volunteer Appreciation and June Activities

Good Shepherd Anglican Church
Weekly Round Up May 27, 2026
Trinity Sunday

Trinity Sunday

Volunteer Appreciation Coffee Hour

We hope you'll join us in worship on Trinity Sunday to reflect on the wonder of our Triune God.

After the service we invite you to celebrate the efforts of all the volunteers that support our church and ministries. If you share your time and talents in any way with the church we hope you will come and receive or gratitude during our Volunteer Appreciation Coffee Hour. We know we have a lot of humble, silent stewards who tirelessly care for the church & cemetery throughout the year. Let us briefly shine the spotlight on your hard work. Your staff members will prepare the coffee and bring in snacks for everyone to enjoy. The staff has ordered catering from Humberto & Catalina; there will be a variety tacos for everyone to try and their cart will be open outside if you'd like to order a full portion. There will also be fruit, cake, cookies, coffee, iced tea and juice. We look forward to seeing you there.

 FundScrip Fundraising

FundScrip Fundraising

Looking for an easy way to support Good Shepherd Anglican Church with your everyday spending? Join our FundScrip fundraising program!

FundScrip allows our church to raise much‑needed funds for Good Shepherd operations simply by purchasing gift cards to the stores you already shop at—such as grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, department stores, and more. You pay face value for the gift card, and a percentage of the purchase is donated back to the church at no extra cost to you.

No sympathy purchases
No overpriced products
No door‑to‑door sales

How to participate:

  • Complete a FundScrip order form with the gift cards you wish to purchase
  • Submit your order form and payment to the church

Important dates:

  • Order deadline: The 1st Sunday of each month
  • Gift card pick‑up: Generally, the 2nd Sunday of each month

Payment details:

  • Cheques should be made payable to Good Shepherd Anglican Church

You’re also encouraged to invite family, friends, neighbours, and co‑workers to support the program—anyone who buys groceries or gas can help support our church!

What does Klaio mean?

  1. Greek verb: I weep, weep for, to mourn or lament.
  2. To express grief, sorrow, or any overpowering emotion by shedding tears.

At Good Shepherd Klaio is our peer-support group, for both parishioners and neighbours, who have experienced loss of any kind. As we are taught in Romans 12:15.

Reminders

Prayer List - If you know someone who should be prayed for publicly, please send their name to us at parishadmin@goodshepanglican.org. The list will be refreshed on a regular basis. If you know someone whose prayer request is more private, or who is unknown to the congregation, please ask the Prayer Chain to pray for them by contacting Kathy Lake at kalake@telus.net.

Forward Day by Day - Most of you may know already that our books arrived! Pick up a copy at the back of the Nave for a $2 donation that supports our ability to continue ordering printed copies. You may view the daily devotion online for free here: https://prayer.forwardmovement.org/fdd

Parking Reminder - As our Sunday attendance grows, our parking lot is filling up! While this is good news, it comes with some challenges. Can you please ensure that you are parked inside the lines so that we maximize our space? If you can walk a bit further, can you park at the Sobey's lot to leave space for those who need a shorter journey? Can you leave the visitor parking at the front for visitors who are new to the church? If the parking lot is full, can you be mindful of your driving and not try to force your way into a space too small for you? Think of how you would feel, your first Sunday trying a new church, and someone crashes into your car because they were trying to squeeze into a space too small for them. As we welcome new members, let's make sure our welcome includes making space for parking. Thank you so much for supporting our welcoming culture.

Memorial Bricks - Anyone wishing to purchase a Memorial Brick in the Chapel at Good Shepherd, please speak to Harold or Kathy Lake. A Memorial Brick costs $75.00, and is a lovely and lasting way to honour the memory of your loved ones.

Little Free Pantry - Any donations you bring for the pantry can be placed directly into the pantry, if it is full we have a box in the narthex that items can be placed for restocking. As a reminder, please keep donations to shelf stable pantry items, and keep in mind how packaging or food might be impacted by hot or cold weather. We are in particular need of water and to-go or single serving foods and snacks that can be enjoyed without any cooking needed.

We give thanks for your continued financial support, which allows us to continue serving the people God loves. If you're wondering how you can currently tithe, there are four possibilities.
First, you can mail a cheque to the church.

Second, you can EMT (email money transfer) to treasurer@goodshepanglican.org. Please include your full name and address with the transfer so we can make sure that tax receipts are sent out properly.
Third, you can donate via the "Give" button in the header or footer of our website, www.goodshepanglican.org
Fourth, you can set up Pre-authorized Giving (PAG), and have your donation sent directly from your bank account each month. Forms can be found on the diocesan website.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email Michelle at parishadmin@goodshepanglican.org or Renita at treasurer@goodshepanglican.org

    • For people impacted by extreme weather throughout the world. May the Lord shelter all of those in need, keep our rescue workers safe, and guide our hands and minds as we work to offer aid and prayers.
  • For all whose lives have enriched our own, even though they have died and for those who mourn.

We thank you Lord for all the blessings of this life, for listening to our prayers and petitions, and for always doing what is right for us in your eyes. We thank you for Your blessing on our needs and all whose lives are closely linked with ours: we ask that our Heavenly Father grant that we may bring others to know Jesus, our Lord and Christ, and love one another as He loves us, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

AMEN
