Join us this Sunday to celebrate Pentecost; Bishop Stephen will be our visiting Shepherd! He will preside over 3 baptisms, 6 confirmations, and 2 lay evangelist celebrations! He will be wearing red vestements for the colour of the day, a favourite Pentecost tradition at Good Shepherd is dressing in red to match. This is the day for that cute red dress or pant suit, add a pop of red with your accessories. Just as we will speak in many languages in our reading of Acts, we can wear red (or not) in our own unique styles.
We are so excited to welcome 3 adorable babies to the Lord's Feast and invite you to renew your Baptismal Vows with them and their families. As always folks may stand up and request a Baptism in the moment if the Holy Spirit calls to you.
For the last 3 months, Rev. Jordan and Natalie have been leading a Confirmation classes with the help of many of you. It has been an honour and a pleasure to be invited into your homes to share a meal before our lesson and discussion each Sunday evening. We set out as group to learn about Anglican traditions, Indiginous Ceremony, prayer, and the Holy Trinity. Along the way fellowship became part of the foundation of the class. In fact several times we may have fellowshipped so much we were politely asked to go home. Several folks who attended the classes have decided to confirm their faith with Bishop Stephen here at Good Shepherd. How wonderful that in our goal to build faith, we also built a home!
Our lay evangelists have been attending classes for a little over a year, and have been taking on larger roles and responibilities in our parish. Celebrate their accomplishments and leadership with us this Sunday.
Of course it's not really Pentecost Sunday at Good Shepherd without the ACW Strawberry Tea. Be sure to stay after the service, our Anglican Church Women have been hard at work baking sweet treats and selecting the very best tea to finish our Pentecost celebration.
