I became a member of Good Shepherd back in 1982 when we had moved into Edmonton from Cold Lake. I got married to my lovely and wonderful wife Kathy in 1988 in the Church (though the ceremony was at St. Peters Anglican Church because we were worshipping in the school at the time). Our two girls attended Good Shepherd growing up as did our granddaughter and grandson, who were baptized in the church as well.
Currently in leadership positions, I am the Treasurer (for the fourth time), I am the Christ Church Cemetery Committee Chairperson, the Church Facilities Coordinator, and the Fellowship Coordinator. In the past I have been the Rector’s Warden, a vestry member, the RAMMS Coordinator and the even Accounts Examiner for a few years.
Other activities that I do since I retired from full time work are I drive seniors to their appointments for Drive Happiness and I donate plasma every two weeks.
We respectfully acknowledge that we are on Treaty 6 territory. In the spirit of peace, friendship and understanding we walk alongside our Indigenous brothers and sisters on the traditional meeting ground and home of Indigenous Peoples, including Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Métis and Nakota Sioux. We give thanks for their hospitality and the opportunity to share common ground.
Monday thru Wednesday 9:00 - 2:00 PM
