Return To Our Roots Service

The Church Of The Good Shepherd started worshipping in a tent in the spring of 1910 in the Calder area.  By the late fall of 1910 a Church was built and the congregation has then worshipped in 3 different Churches and one school for the past 100 years.  To commemorate the first service in  a tent the 100th Anniversary Committee thought it would be appropriate to hold a 100th anniversary service in a tent set up in our parking lot.   The tent was set up on Saturday May 29, 2010 in the rain and before it got dark there was probably 2 to 4cm of snow on the ground.  On Sunday morning it started to snow again so it was decided that it was too cold and too wet to hold the service in the tent.  The service was held in the Church with Bishop Jane delivering the homily and baptizing Samantha.  After the service the ACW hosted a strawberry tea which was enjoyed by all.

It says rain or shine who would have thought it was going to snow!
